Choose a Football Fusion 3 position by the decisions you enjoy repeating, not by the flashiest highlight. Quarterback manages targets and throws; wide receiver creates space and finishes catches; running back protects possession while finding forward lanes; defensive back denies space and attacks safe interception chances; kicker converts field-position opportunities. The game’s official badge descriptions confirm several role-linked analysis fields, but their hidden formulas are not public.
The Legendary badge names six targets: 88 QBR, 13 avg gain, 50% catch/target, 90 DBR, 7 TPG, and 60% kicks, alongside earning all XP and reaching 99 Overall. Those are official target labels, not enough information to reverse-engineer scoring. Use the fields to choose what to improve, then review the live analysis screen for your current sample.
Position Dex
Offense
Quarterback
Main job: protect the possession by reading space and delivering a catchable ball.
Official analysis signal: QBR; Legendary names 88.
Best first drill: identify one safe target before adding power or pump-fake options.

Wide Receiver
Main job: create separation, show the quarterback a clear window, and track the ball.
Official analysis signal: catch/target; Legendary names 50%.
Best first drill: run one route at consistent depth and turn for the ball early.

Running Back
Main job: receive the handoff, read the nearest pursuit, and take a secure forward lane.
Official analysis signal: average gain is one relevant progression target.
Best first drill: make one decisive cut rather than reversing across the whole field.

Defensive Back
Main job: stay between a threat and useful receiving space, then contest the ball.
Official analysis signals: DBR and TPG; Legendary names 90 and 7.
Best first drill: maintain leverage without staring only at the quarterback.

Kicker
Main job: convert a field-goal chance with repeatable aim and power.
Official signals: 60% kicks; Leg Day names a field goal from the 40 in a full server.
Best first drill: repeat the same spot before increasing distance.

Choose by your decision loop
Pick quarterback if you enjoy scanning several options and accepting responsibility for the ball’s destination. The best early goal is not a spectacular deep throw; it is making the same read on time and understanding why an incompletion occurred. A quarterback must keep the camera, target, power choice, and pressure in one sequence.
Pick receiver if you enjoy movement without the ball. Your value starts before the catch: spacing teammates, attacking open grass, presenting a visible route, and adjusting without dragging a defender into another target. Catch/target rewards consistency, but the formula and minimum sample need live verification.
Pick running back if you prefer immediate decisions after a handoff. The useful choices are lane, cut, contact risk, and ball security. The Fullback (Truck) game pass adds an optional paid action and lower fumble/drop claims, but a sound rushing path cannot depend on owning it.
Pick defensive back if you enjoy predicting both receiver and quarterback. Coverage is successful when it removes an easy throw, even if you do not touch the ball. Interceptions are valuable, but gambling on every route can damage the defense and any underlying performance analysis.
Pick kicker if you enjoy repeatable setup and pressure conversion. The Leg Day badge proves a long field-goal challenge exists, while the Legendary badge names kick percentage. Practice stable attempts first; distance highlights do not replace consistency.
Position signals and unknown formulas
Do not treat these targets as a complete recipe for 99 Overall. The Legendary text says players must earn all XP and surpass all analysis goals, warns that 99 is not guaranteed, mentions Prestige after failure, and says VIP can raise 98 to 99. It does not reveal the weighting or exact sequence.
A practice path for new players
Spend the first session on one offensive and one defensive position so you understand both sides of the same route. A receiver learns what creates separation; a defensive back learns what closes it. A quarterback learns which windows feel safe; a defender learns which body position discourages the throw. A running back learns pursuit angles that later improve tackling.
Choose one repeatable goal per match. Examples are “identify a safe check before throwing,” “finish the route without crowding a teammate,” “take the first secure forward lane,” “stay goal-side of the assigned threat,” or “repeat the same kick setup.” Review the outcome after the play rather than chasing several statistics at once.
Use Controls to learn the current device prompt before blaming position choice. If you cannot locate the ball while moving, fix camera practice first. If an action is unavailable, confirm role, possession, and play state.
Team spacing matters
Football Fusion 3’s official description emphasizes teamwork. Multiple players attacking the same space can make every role harder: the quarterback sees overlapping targets, receivers bring defenders together, and a running back loses a clear edge. On defense, several players chasing one route can leave another area empty.
Communicate a simple assignment before the snap when the server supports it. Then hold that responsibility long enough for teammates to read you. Improvisation is useful after the play develops, but instant crowding removes information from everyone.
Review a position fairly
Do not judge a role from one play or one server. Record several meaningful opportunities, the device, server conditions, and whether you understood the prompt. A receiver with no targets cannot evaluate catch timing; a defensive back avoided by the quarterback may be doing useful coverage; a kicker without a field-goal chance has no kick sample.
Separate role performance from purchased abilities. QB+ changes quarterback interface options without boosting power. Big Hitter and Fullback (Truck) add paid actions. Auto Captain affects pregame control. None is required to learn the basic position decision loop.
Quick position questions
What is the easiest position? The best starting role is the one whose camera and decision loop you can repeat. Receiver and defensive back teach spacing; running back teaches pursuit; quarterback and kicker place more outcome pressure on one action.
Which position gets 99 Overall fastest? No official per-position shortcut or XP formula is public. The Legendary badge requires all listed analysis goals as well as XP, so build balanced evidence instead of trusting a single-role exploit.
Can I change positions? The exact selection flow and stat assignment should be confirmed in the current game. When switching, note which analysis field changes and whether the current match state allows the role.
Do game passes make a position mandatory? No. They add stated features or customization; practice the normal role first and buy only after reading the current listing.
